This morning I was so happy remembering family visits. It was so nice to have family that wants to spend time with you and goes out of their way to visit us. They traveled for many hours to see us. This afternoon, I was reminded of people close by that stir up descent and hostility. It makes me so sad. I spent so many years trying to make them love me and like me. I went out of my way with time and money, until I finally realized, that it is not my fault. I can trust in God to protect me. I don’t need to engage in the drama. Unfortunately, they gossip about me and create negative narratives about me and my family. It is disheartening. I know that God will always be my heavenly father, so I can read the bible and pray against attacks.
God is the almighty protector. Nobody wins against the Lord. I feel comforted knowing that people can do their worst to me, but their worst can never begin to match God’s power. God is almighty. God can make the mountains tremble. God’s power is boundless. God’s love is eternal. I have nothing to fear, when God is on my side. With God’s protection, nothing can harm me.
I pray for them. I pray that God gives them peace and love in their hearts. I try not to dwell on why they do not like me. I have made mistakes, but I cannot live in the past, replaying each mistake I have made. Jesus died to forgive our sins. If God forgave me, I have to forgive myself and move on too. I can only move forward. So, I choose to read the bible and pray. Instead of letting Satan swirl my emotions into a tormented state, I will go to the almighty one.
Since the beginning of the world, there has only been one God. I will wait upon the Lord. God will act for me. God will take care of me. God will protect me. God will shield my heart, from those who wish to destroy it. I make mistakes, but I continue to seek the Lord. When Satan starts to whisper doubts in my ears, I will remember the Lord and his ways. I will choose the Lord. I will not listen to Satan. I will trust in God.
For since the beginning of the world
Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear,
Nor has the eye seen any God besides You,
Who acts for the one who waits for Him.
You meet him who rejoices and does righteousness,
Who remembers You in Your ways.
You are indeed angry, for we have sinned—
In these ways we continue;
And we need to be saved.
-Isaiah 64:4-5 (NKJV)
God does not like when we sin. God gets angry. I will continue to go to the Lord and ask for forgiveness. I am just a human that needs to be saved. I will wait upon the Lord.
Prayer
Dear God,
You are the only God. You created the world. You will act for those who wait for you. I choose to wait for you. When times are troubled, and I feel confused, I will wait for you. When I am sad, I will wait for you. When I am left out and rejected, I will wait for you. When people hate me, I will seek your protection. When people tell lies about me, I will wait for you. When people stir up others to hate me and treat me unkindly, I will put my trust in you, God. Thank you, God for all you do for me. Thank you for protecting me. I will wait for you, almighty God.
