God protects us and watches over us. Some people just will not like you. They may even hate you. Even if you do nothing wrong, they will find reasons or even make up reasons to complain about you and hate you. Being on the receiving end of all this spite and hatred is hard to endure, unless you trust in God.
God will put a shield around us and protect us from harm. God will protect our hearts from gossip. lies, made-up realities and ridicule. I do not know why some of us have to walk a lonely path, with groups of people teamed up against us. It feels like they are ready to pounce at one wrong word or action. You cannot do anything right in their eyes. So, you just have to do what is right in God’s eyes. God sees everything. God knows the deep and hidden parts of our hearts. God knows us fully and completely and still loves us.
When we are in a difficult situation, it is hard to keep trying. We smile and try to be kind to those ignoring us and pretending that we do not exist, yet watching for us to make one wrong move. We cannot imitate evil behavior, gossiping, lying and being unkind. God wants us to do God’s will in front of those who have not yet seen God.
Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.
3 John 11 (NKJV)
God does not always ask us to do easy things. God will give us the strength to do them. We may never know why we had to walk through the fiery furnace. We just have to trust in God and do his will, and we will be fine. Imitate what is good and do God’s will.
