Do you ever go through your day and feel unseen, maybe like you don’t matter?
You do matter. God loves you so much, that he has an entire book for us. When you fear the Lord and meditate on His name, God writes your name in His book.
The word Meditate is a verb, so it requires action. It means to focus your thoughts on God.
I look at my own life, and ask myself if I mediate on God. I think the answer is yes, when I pray, listen to worship music, go to Church services, and read the bible, I am spending time thinking about God. Do I fear the Lord? I think that I do. I would rather think of God as a loving Father who needs to discipline His children, but I know that God created us and can take away our life at any moment according to His will.
God can speak a word and change our lives. God does what God does, according to His will. God is the One that I put my trust in, and may His will be done.
God claims us as His children and considers each of us like a precious jewel. God will spare us, like a child who serves his father well. God will give us discernment to know the righteous from the wicked.
If you ever feel unseen, know that God always sees you.
A Book of Remembrance
Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another,
And the Lord listened and heard them;
So a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the Lord
And who meditate on His name.“They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,
“On the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.”Then you shall again discern
Between the righteous and the wicked,
Between one who serves God
And one who does not serve Him.—Malachi 3:16-18 (NKJV)
Karen, thank you for this beautiful and encouraging reminder that we are never unseen by God. Sometimes we can feel invisible or insignificant in this world, but what a comfort it is to know that the Lord sees us completely, knows our hearts, and calls us His own.
I especially loved the thought of God’s “book of remembrance.” It is such a precious picture of how deeply He values those who love and seek Him. And I agree that meditation requires action – prayer, worship, Scripture, fellowship, and simply turning our thoughts back towards Him throughout the day.
What a wonderful encouragement to remember that our identity and worth don’t depend on whether the world notices us. God sees us, God knows us, and God loves us.
Thank you for sharing this, Karen. May we continue to keep our eyes and hearts fixed on Him. Blessings to you and your family. 😀
